The research found out that 88% of businesses reviewed were small business enterprises with 72% being micro enterprises that employed no more than 5 people. Most of the businesses are run on a part time basis to suppliment income. Zimbabwean businesses in the UK are spread across many business sectors but concentrated more in service provision due to the little capital investment required to set up. This was seen to translate to the minimum use of financing options available to businesses in the UK. 67% of these businesses mainly targeted Zimbabwean customers as they tried to provide ethnic products within their enclave.
